摘要: A diode-pumped planar Er/Yb waveguide laser is demonstrated. The device was fabricated by thallium exchange in a phosphorus-free silicate glass. Lasing achieved at 1544 nm with threshold of 5 mW and slope efficiency 2%. low indicates the absence severe backtransfer effects previously reported bulk glasses.
