摘要: SUMMARY A highly specific radioimmunoassay has been used to study changes in peripheral human plasma growth hormone releasing factor (GRF) following the ingestion of food. From a mean basal concentration 11.8 pg/ml (range <7–15.4 pg/ml) six normal individuals overnight fast, circulating GRF-like immunoreactivity increased maximum 36.7 20.2–77.0 sampled 120 min after mixed breakfast. This increase GRF was accompanied by suppression rather than stimulation hormone. The predominant source may therefore extrahy-pothalamic and responds an oral food stimulus.
