摘要: The success of a microneurosurgical intervention in leprous neuropathy (LN) depends on the diagnosis chronic compression before irreversible paralysis and digital loss occurs. In order to determine effectiveness different approach for early identification LN, neurosensory testing with Pressure-Specified Sensory Device™ (PSSD), validated sensitive test, was performed an endemic zone leprosy. A cross-sectional study conducted analyze patient sample meeting World Health Organization (WHO) criteria Hansen's disease. prevalence LN based presence ≥1 abnormal PSSD pressure threshold two-point static touch. total 312 upper lower extremity nerves were evaluated 39 patients. found 97.4% LN. Tinel's sign identified 60% these An algorithm patients proposed using unilateral screening ulnar deep peroneal nerves.
