摘要: Background: The promotion of physical activity (PA) guidelines to the general public is an important issue that lacks empirical investigation. PA campaigns often feature participation thresholds cite verbatim (e.g. 150 min/week moderate-to-vigorous (MVPA)). Some instead prefer use generic messages do as much MVPA possible). 'Thresholds' may disrupt understanding health benefits modest participation. This study examined perception after exposure did and not contain a duration threshold. Methods: Brief structured interviews were conducted with convenience sample adults (n = 1100). Participants received threshold message (150 min/ week MVPA), presented minimum; or no message. rated perceived effects seven durations. One-way analyses variance post hoc tests for group differences used assess raw ratings each PA. Results: Recipients all three held more positive perceptions >150 relative those receiving any For durations <150 min/week, greatest benefits. Those tended have least min/week. Conclusion: Threshold associated lower Campaigns based on be limited when promoting small increases at population level.
