摘要: We expand the renewable technology model palette and present a validated high resolution hydro power time series for energy systems analysis. Among weather-based renewables, hydroelectricity shows unique storage-like flexibility, which is particularly important given variability of wind solar power. Often limited by data availability or computational performance, resolution, globally applicable has not been available. For demonstration, we focus on 41 Chinese reservoir-based stations as demo, determine their upstream basin areas, estimate inflow based gridded surface runoff validate daily in terms both flow volume potential generation. Furthermore, showcase an application these with cascades system long term investment planning. Our method's novelty lies in: •it highly resolved spatial-temporal datasets;•both algorithms used here are applicable;•it includes cascade that can be integrated into simulations.
