摘要: This paper explores the support for more comprehensive modeling of service systems than that possible through methods developed partial perspectives, with uncertainties about their wider suitability and need integration other in this domain. It responds to a Dual Call Papers from INFORMS Service Science IEEE Transactions on Computing requesting contributions address barely explored challenge establishing links between business views technical computing. Competing definitions reveal most emphasize acts or outcomes produced others, whereas computing view emphasizes encapsulated functionalities can be discovered launched by consumers. uses work system theory (WST) related metamodel represent systems. Unified Description Language (USDL 2.0) Application previously defined EU-Rent example illustrates how successively detailed business-oriented descriptions situation needs functionality are well described USDL. In words, views, as represented WST USDL respectively, serve complementary purposes. supports analysis situations, while is basis services functionality.
