摘要: The incidence of type 2 diabetes has increased dramatically over the past several decades and this trend is projected to continue into foreseeable future. Skeletal muscle insulin resistance thought be a key development in pathogenesis diabetes. Given fact, interventions that prevent or reverse impairments skeletal action can have profound effects on whole-body glucose homeostasis. Traditional approaches used regard include exercise, weight loss, insulin-sensitizing drugs such as thiazolidinediones (TZDs). Although these proven effective improving homeostasis, there are adherence issues seen with lifestyle undesirable side been reported TZDs. With points mind, alternative strategies maintain improve sensitivity warranted. In context, purpose present review highlight role antioxidant compounds prevention treatment resistance. Specifically, we will briefly describe mechanisms insulin-stimulated uptake potential mediators oxidative stress induced resistance, data suggesting beneficial action, discuss mediating effect.
