摘要: Apoptotic pathways controlled by the Rel/NF-κB family of transcription factors may regulate response cells to DNA damage. Here, we have examined NF-κB status several prostate tumor cell lines. In androgen-independent PC-3 and DU-145, DNA-binding activity was constitutively activated IκB-α levels were decreased. contrast, androgen-sensitive line LNCaP had low which upregulated following exposure cytokines or The kinase, IKKα, mediates activation, also measured. cells, IKKα active, whereas minimal that cytokines. anti-inflammatory agent ibuprofen inhibited constitutive activation in DU-145 blocked stimulated cells. However, did not directly inhibit kinase. results demonstrate is hormone-insensitive lines but hormone responsive line. increase expression anti-apoptotic proteins, thereby decreasing effectiveness anti-tumor therapy contributing development malignant phenotype.
