摘要: Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) is an effective treatment for major mental illnesses. It used to achieve rapid and short-term improvement of severe symptoms after adequate trial other options have proven ineffective. Relapse rates following ECT are high leading early readmission. Objective: To study the readmission rate in patients had received its relation with age, gender, race clinical diagnosis. Methods: This a retrospective descriptive who 1-year period. Subjects were identified from record book. Case notes these then traced reviewed. Clinical diagnosis demographic data collected. Patients readmitted within 6 months being discharged identified. The was compared not group. Result: A total 156 subjects included this study. Mean age 40 years old, 51% female main bipolar affective disorder (42.9%). Early 30.1%. time relapse 5.3 months. Chi Square analysis indicated that younger significantly associated among patients. Conclusion: rate. Adequate post psychosocial intervention pharmacotherapy may help reduce
