摘要: Potentiation of the cardiovascular and other effects dietary tyramine by monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitors (cheese effect) has been a major limitation to clinical use these drugs. The discovery that MAO exists in two distinct isoforms, MAO-A MAO-B, together with development selective each isoform, enabled understanding inhibition MAO-A, or both will cause cheese effect, but MAO-B can be elicited without dangerous pressor reaction. This permitted introduction medicine for treatment Parkinson's disease. review describes basic mechanisms involved as well providing information on levels variety foodstuff, surveys from testing inhibitors, selegiline rasagiline.
