Application of high-pressure torsion for consolidation of ceramic powders

摘要: Alumina (α-Al 2 O 3 ) powders were successfully consolidated by application of high-pressure torsion (HPT) at ambient temperature and a subsequent annealing process. Introduction strain HPT was confirmed peak broadening in X-ray diffraction analysis. It shown that consolidation greater, giving rise to increased hardness with increasing imposed strain, time. Scanning electron microscopy showed occurred lower temperatures due the presence strain.
