摘要: Abstract The literature on the mechanism of electropolishing is reviewed. A brief historical outline given and anodic levelling or macrosmoothing distinguished from brightening microsmoothing. Macrosmoothing results differences gradient electrical potential and/or concentration a rough surface. Its rate can be quantitatively predicted in many cases. Microsmoothing suppression crystallographic factors dissolution process. Optimum conditions are achieved when under mass transport control. role films pitting discussed.
