摘要: In order to study the spatial and temporal patterns in Sri Lanka, monthly rainfall data at 29 stations for period 1881–1980 were analysed this study. First, Empirical Orthogonal Function analysis method was applied anomalies. The result indicated clear dominant patterns. first eigenvector accounts 40.2% second 11.1% of total variance explain most apparently existing with orographic influences. particular, former is explained by between October February (northeast monsoon), later that May September (southwest monsoon) period. Power spectra eigenvector's time coefficients revealed cycles 40, 24 14–15 months, while 120 40 months. Lastly, a regional division fluctuations presented Lanka based on space two eigenvectors.
