摘要: Olfaction is involved in various human social interactions, ranging from mother-offspring attachment to mate choice; as other species, such chemical signalling thought be shaped by evolution. However, across many cultures, individuals manipulate their body odour means of fragrances and these may significantly affect the outcome encounters a context-specific fashion. Here we employ framework dual-inheritance theory, which advocates that cultural practices should incorporated into analysis evolution behaviour, explore olfactory signalling ethnic status markers. Further, review studies showing perfumes interact with an individual fashion people tend choose according genetic make-up. This indicates biologically evolved might operate concert practices. Finally, propose two scenarios: (1) how culturally based preferences use perfume impact gene frequencies populations, (2) cognitive biases selection scents are appropriate for adornments. This, our view, makes perfume-body complex potentially insightful model culture–gene coevolution.
