摘要: Asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) are highly prevalent, chronic, diseases [1, 2]. symptoms usually start at a young age, whereas COPD generally becomes symptomatic after the fourth decade of life. It has been recognised in clinical practice by international asthma guidelines 2] that many people have features compatible with both diseases; term suggested to describe this is ACOS (asthma−COPD overlap syndrome). However, underlying mechanisms its appropriate treatment unclear, particularly since these patients excluded from studies determining pathophysiology pathology COPD, as well efficacy respiratory treatments. A new prospective population-based study ERJ makes strides understanding phenomenon
