摘要: We use the case of Eurasian lynx Lynx in Alps to discuss how implement existing directives and recommendations, as well integrate biological concepts, into practical conservation wildlife management. Since 1995 occurrence Alpine countries has been monitored reported by Status Conservation Population expert group. Both area occupancy estimated number individuals increased from 1995–1999 2000–2004. The is 120–150 across 27,800 km2, six distinct sub-areas. In highly fragmented habitat populations expand slowly, even situations high local density when suitable available. Thus, almost 40 years after first reintroduction, < 20% have recolonized lynx. addition ecological factors, persistent disagreements about return between conservationists other land-users, including livestock breeders hunters, political fragmentation (with different regional priorities large carnivore policies), prevented creation a consensus regarding pan-Alpine goals for implementation measures such translocations reintroductions. possible approaches light new guidelines population level management plans carnivores recently developed on behalf European Commission.
