SITUATION AND DISTRIBUTION OF THE LYNX (LYNX LYNX L.) IN SLOVENIA FROM 1995-1999

摘要: In this paper we analyse signs of lynx presence and their distribution to evaluate the sta- tus in Slovenia. From 1995-1999, a total 499 were reported that al- lowed us distinguish between 4 different regions: (I) The southern part country comprising area south-east Ljubljana-Trst highway (Kocevska, Notranjska) where re-introduced number is still highest. (2) western with Julian Alps, have started immigrate mid 1980s. (3) Karavanke KamniSko-Savinjske Alps north country, as well some other isolated areas only very low si- gns collected. (4) fourth region comprises north-east Slovenia absent. Based on available data, estimated 30 40 individuals, while west Jesenice-Ljubljana-Trst around 10 individuals are present. occurrence has not increased during past five years, contrary, fact annual hunting quota been reached since 1992 - even though quotas set considerably lower than previously indicates decreased, Slovenian population was always considered most vital Alpine occurrence, it shown rapid expansion into neighbouring Croatia, Italy Austria. However, years slight re- gression numbers observed, contrast brown bear wolf.
