摘要: Amino acid deprivation of a “relaxed” auxotroph Escherichia coli results in the accumulation protein-deficient, immature ribosomes (“relaxed particles”). The ribonucleic (RNA) these particles was shown to differ from mature ribosomal RNA both sedimentation characteristics and elution columns methylated albumin-keiselguhr. When relaxed were allowed become converted ribosomes, unique properties lost, this became indistinguishable RNA. conversion did not involve degradation resynthesis It is concluded that undergoes configurational transition during ribosome development, result changes primary structure
