摘要: A mixture of triethoxysilanefunctionalized poly(ethylene glycol), f-PEG, and tetraethoxysilane, TEOS, was used as precursors in the preparation continuous hybrid f-PEG-siloxane sol–gel derived fibers. The fibers were spun by extrusion through a spinneret. thus prepared had diameter 20–50 μm. 29Si-CPMAS NMR measurements confirmed that functionalized PEG is incorporated into siloxane network covalent bonds. fiber elasticity much higher than from sols with TEOS only source for silica. However, f-PEG chain length plays crucial role spinnability sol, since, result bridging flocculation, macroscopic phase separation occurred readily increasing f-PEG. shown to be effective substrates nucleation growth bone-like hydroxyapatite.
