摘要: Abstract Converging data suggest that nitric oxide (NO) production by cytokine-induced immune cells in demyelinating lesions is involved multiple sclerosis (MS). High levels of NO may complex to suitable amino acids, causing an response against the formed neo-epitopes. By testing MS sera with chemically defined nitroso-amino acids conjugated carrier protein ELISA, we observed a significant antibody reaction S -nitroso-cysteine epitope. The was exclusively IgM isotype avidity 8 × 10 −7 M. Sera all clinical forms showed significantly elevated titer versus from healthy subjects or patients affected other neurological and autoimmune diseases. detection circulating antibodies epitope provides indirect evidence for involvement MS.
