摘要: Several cases of speciation by hybridization have been reported in fungi, mostly involving recent between closely related species. In the basidiomycete genus Microbotryum contrast some species were suspected to arisen moderately distant particular two species, M. lagerheimii and silenes-acaulis, had different placements phylogenetic trees depending on genes considered. exhibit bipolar heterothallism, here we analyzed se- quences alternate pheromone receptors obtain further insights occurrence hybridization. Indeed because mating-type loci are always heterozygous homoploid hybrid should leave a permanent footprint at mating- type locus retaining alleles from their respective parental The obtained with each well resolved, relationships agreement published phylogenies. Fungal pher- omone receptor basidiomycetes thus appear useful for studies, although it may not be true homobasidiomycetes where duplica- tions these occurred. Furthermore an incongruence phylogenies was found one lagerheimii, as previously observed other nuclear genes. However additional revealed that involved whole clade including both parasitizing Lychnis flos-cucucli. ancestor possibly arose via ancestral lineages, studies address alternative hypotheses, such chance events during lineage sorting.
