摘要: Murine monoclonal antibody B72.3, prepared against a membrane-enriched extract of human metastatic carcinoma, was reacted with spectrum adult and fetal tissues using avidin-biotin-complex immunohistochemical techniques to evaluate the expression reactive tumor associated glycoprotein (TAG)-72 antigen. TAG-72 shown be expressed in several epithelial-derived cancers including 94% colonic adenocarcinomas, 84% invasive ductal carcinomas breast, 96% non-small cell lung carcinomas, 100% common epithelial ovarian as well majority pancreatic, gastric, esophageal evaluated. not observed, however, tumors neural, hematopoietic, or sarcomatous derivation, suggesting that antigen is "pancarcinoma" nature. Appreciable B72.3 reactivity generally observed normal tissues, limited noted few benign lesions breast colon. detected, colon, stomach, esophagus, thus defining an oncofetal has previously been distinct from carcinoembryonic other antigens. The pancarcinoma distribution lack significant suggest its potential diagnostic therapeutic utility for carcinomas.
