摘要: Photocatalytic activity of powdered GaN for decomposing water into hydrogen under light irradiation was investigated. It found that has producing from containing electron donors (Na2S-Na2SO3, CH3OH) without a loading noble metal; the obtained H2 yield ca. 150 μmol 200 h-Xe lamp (300 W) irradiation. The increased by adding NaOH in reaction solution due to photo-etching and concomitant removal native oxide surface, as confirmed XPS, XRD, PL measurements. band energy scheme suggests conduction edge is positioned at 0.5 V higher than redox potential H+/H2. This large difference (overpotential) makes photocatalytic evolution over possible.
