Virtual Competence: A New Perspective on Individual Knowledge Skills and Abilities in Virtual Organizations

摘要: Organizing and accomplishing virtual work presents both opportunities challenges. Our review of the literature indicates that an important element organization phenomenon individual knowledge, skills abilities (KSAs) to virtually (Powell, Picoli Ives, 2004), has not been well studies. Based on Bandura’s (1986) social cognitive theory, we theorize a better understanding individuals’ KSAs is potential avenue for managing complexity distributed contexts. In this study, empirically develop construct competence within nomological network shed light how individuals capacities in daily activities help them perform settings. current theorization suggests critical capability effectively organizations. We are currently collecting data. Therefore, research-in-progress theory development hypotheses, along with outline our data collection activities. Results empirical analysis conclusions will be presented at conference.
