Virtual Teams in the Context of Virtual Daily Life: A Communication Perspective

摘要: Perceived as the form of organizing future, virtual teams have proliferated all over world. However, meaning virtualization is more than just a work arrangement. People actually enjoy benefits remote communication via ICT in daily life. Given difficulties teams, this paper reviews literature and life from perspective using framework that includes media, people context issues. The findings demonstrate communications both settings are similar two three key elements – media differences similarities third dimension context. Drawing on these findings, makes contribution to theory research by exploring potential influences taking into account understanding team communication. Based application channel expansion theory, self-efficacy concerns about cultural effects, reveals experiencing may positive influence effectiveness teams. Future directions suggested continue investigation relationships.
