M‐finance and consumer redress for the unbanked in South Africa

摘要: The paper describes the nature and impact of mobile financial services (m-finance) consumer protection in developing countries. Specifically, it explores redress South Africa's m-finance, a sector responsible for rapidly drawing unbanked consumers countries into mainstream. Actor–Network Theory is used to identify key actors transformational m-finance Africa. Complaint procedures identified providers are reviewed evaluated against 2007 recommendation by Organization Economic Co-operation Development (OECD) on dispute resolution redress. research shows that although Africa not an OECD member, legal self-regulatory environments have fostered what appear be good intentions businesses. All study had information internal channels some even provided additional alternative country. Some shortcomings, however, were lack standard designs online complaint forms providing expected time frames process possible solutions.
