摘要: Increased recognition of mangrove high carbon storage potential has prompted sequestration as one the main goals in afforestation. In southern China, introduced fast-growing Sonneratia apetala and native Kandelia obovata have been widely afforested since mid-1980s. While S. spread extensively, implications ecosystem services are yet to be ascertained. Soil/root coring was conducted two 12-year-old K. plantations, respectively. Fine-root mass soil physicochemical properties were obtained compared. organic stock ranged between 129 394 g m−2 7.9 15.8 Mg C ha−1, Soil fine-root both significantly different forests. Organic is correlated fine roots. The contribution by may species. Growth physiological traits not only influence stand characteristics but also that drive overall accumulation. Contrary original expectation driving introduction, shrubby higher a sink than apetala.
