摘要: Abstract CT is the most accurate method for guiding fine needle biopsies in deep and/or small sized lung and mediastinic lesions. The authors have performed 2109 CT-guided (FNAB). results are given terms of sensitivity, specificity rate complications. In every examination, Westcott or Chiba needles (22 21 gauge) were used. From examinations performed, 1413 (66.99%) positive, 538 (25.5%) negative, 15 (0.7%) suspicious 143 (6.78%) inadequate diagnosis. 267 patients underwent surgical clinical follow-up and, all cases, cytological diagnosis was confirmed. Other considerations made on lesion topography, histological type, dimensions, complication rate, diagnostic accuracy. CT, course, best biopsy its high spatial resolution excellent anatomical definition, so that samples with smaller than 2 cm lesions, even continuity large vessels other critical organs, performed. Nevertheless, result quality depends ability operator.
