摘要: The focus of the present review is to investigate role melanin in radioprotection melanoma and attempts sensitize tumors radiation by inhibiting melanogenesis. Early studies showed radical scavenging, oxygen consumption adsorption as mechanisms radioprotection. Experimental models hamsters gerbils are described well their use biochemical radiobiological studies, including a spontaneously metastasizing ocular model. Some results from vitro on inhibition melanogenesis presented radio-chelation therapy experimental clinical settings. In contrast cutaneous melanoma, uveal very successfully treated with radiation, both using photon proton beams. We point out that presence or lack pigmentation should be considered, when choosing therapeutic options, data suggest could target for radiosensitizing cells increase efficacy radiotherapy against melanoma.
