摘要: Abstract The ability to extract reliable segments from the sensory data-stream is necessary for learning and creating a representation of environment. Here we focused on segmentation in visual associated with foraging. Fifty-one pigeons (Columba livia) were trained recognize two food-predicting signals, one presented against fixed background elements other varying backgrounds. divided into groups: 32 short intervals 3-5 minutes between sessions 19 long 60 minutes sessions. When tested signal plain background, 24 time preferred during training eight training. Nine ten Our findings indicate that possess an use variation-set structure segment data. To date, effect has been demonstrated only context human language acquisition. current suggest variation sets may be linked abilities too.
