Age, ego level, and the life-span development of coping and defense processes.

摘要: Developmental variation in coping and defense strategy use was examined a sample of 100 male female participants ranging age from 10 to 77 years. Each participant administered Loevinger's ego development task, the Ways Coping measure, Defense Mechanism Inventory. In addition, brief narrative stressful experience assessed for developmental level response its content. The results suggest that, addition age, measures source stress predict particular strategies. keeping with other research, sex differences strategies were also found. These findings are discussed light need tasks that able assess both individual maturity use.
