摘要: In 1963, Richard Williams observed the formation of very regular patterns or domains in a nematic liquid crystal when material was subjected to an electric field. This report marked beginning new era research on electro-optic properties crystals, field which had laid dormant for nearly 30 years. During remaining years 1960’s and early 70’s, numerous studies effects crystals were performed, at same time, investigations into synthetic physical chemistry these materials conducted. As result efforts, whole display industry evolved.
