摘要: This study adopts a household economy framework of analysis and links county, household, individual level 1910 Census data to explore the extra-household activities teens living in economies aged. Findings are that presence elder heads or nonnuclear elders (coresident kin heads) had significant but different impacts on teens. Older participated less paid employment responsibility for economic support generally fell male household. Teens were likely attend school. In contrast, households increased odds teen members being Nonnuclear elders, as group, showed need across several dimensions: economic, health, social support, yet their intrahousehold contributions appear have allowed pursue schooling.
