摘要: Light and electron microscopic findings in a case of multiple lipid islands the sigmoid mucosa are described. The patient apparently represents second with these lesions published medical literature. Lipid droplets were found histiocytes, pericytes, smooth muscle cells, Schwann cells. Pathological alterations nervous system have not been described before. accumulation lipids different cell types colonic elements probably due to toxic factors reaching cells either from intestinal lumen or blood stream. term "lipid proctitis (colitis)" does appear be useful because obviously no disease sui generis but an epiphenomenon other pathological processes. differential diagnosis clinico-pathological correlation colorectal briefly discussed.
