摘要: Little attention has been paid to colorectal xanthoma. To clarify the clinical and pathological features of xanthoma, we report 28 xanthomas biopsied from 25 patients. All were composed typical xanthoma cells showed polypoid configuration. Median age patients was 64 years there 15 men 10 women. Diabetes mellitus, constipation, hyperlipidemia found in two, one, seven patients, respectively. Seventeen (60.7%) polyps located sigmoid colon remaining 11 rectum. Twenty-three (82.1%) sessile. Twelve (60.0%) twenty that recorded reddish color. Only two revealed a yellowish tone. Microscopically, foamy present lamina propria, but submucosa did not contain cells. Immunohistochemically, invariably expressed extensive positivity for CD68. The colonic glands deformity case with moderate intense density surface epithelium hyperplastic change 22 (78.6%) xanthomas. four also associated changes. basement membrane often thickened. Cell debris proliferation capillaries observed just below 19 (67.9%) xanthomas, Previous mucosal minute injury suggested as pathogenesis Colorectal identical gastric esophageal endoscopically or microscopically. We prefer term "xanthomatous polyp" rather than region. They may be regarded novel type non-neoplastic polyp.
