摘要: The chemical and the pulp/paper industries combined provide 55% of CHP generation in US industry. Yet, significant potential for new capacities exists both industries. From present steam consumption data, authors estimate about 50 GW additional technical reduced carbon emissions will be equivalent to 44% these They find that most reductions can achieved at negative costs. Depending on assumptions used calculations, economic significantly lower, mitigation costs much higher. Using sensitivity analyses, they determine largest effect have technology, assumed discount rates, improvements efficiency technologies, equipment depreciation periods.
