摘要: Parathyroid hormone-related peptide is a regulatory protein implicated in the pathogenesis of bone metastases, particularly breast carcinoma. widely expressed primary prostate cancers but there are few reports its expression prostatic metastases. The aim this study was to examine parathyroid and receptor matched metastatic tissue from patients with untreated adenocarcinoma prostate. Eight-millimetre trephine iliac crest biopsies containing cancer were obtained 14 whom tumour also available. Histological grading performed by an independent pathologist. cellular location mRNA for identified using situ hybridization (35)S-labelled probe. Expression described as uniform, heterogenous or negative within cell population. positive 13 out tumours all Receptor evident primaries 12 Co-expression common (13 tumours, metastases). co-expression suggest that autocrine mediated stimulation may be mechanism escape normal growth pathways. high frequency metastases consistent role
