摘要: In 2005, members of the Vancouver Area Network Drug Users (VANDU) formed Injection Support Team (IST). A community-based research project examined this drug-user-led intervention through observation team activities, over 30 interviews with members, and 9 people reached by team. The IST is composed recognized “hit doctors,” who perform outreach in open drug scene to provide safer injecting education instruction regarding assisted-injection. represents a unique response gaps local harm reduction efforts including programmatic barriers attending supervised injection facility.
