摘要: BACKGROUND Multiple external ventricular drain (EVD) simulators have been created, yet their cost, bulky size, and nonreusable components limit accessibility to residency programs. OBJECTIVE To create validate an animated EVD simulator that is accessible on a mobile device. METHODS We developed mobile-based compatible with iOS (Apple Inc., Cupertino, California) Android-based devices (Google, Mountain View, can be downloaded from the Apple App Google Play Store. Our consists of learn mode, which teaches users procedure, test assesses users' procedural knowledge. Twenty-eight participants, who were divided into expert novice categories, completed in mode answered postmodule survey. This was graded using 5-point Likert scale, 5 representing highest score. Using survey results, we assessed module's face content validity, whereas construct validity evaluated by comparing scores. RESULTS Participants rated individual questions pertaining median score 4 out 5. When scores, generated participants completing experts scored higher than novices (mean, 71.5; 95% confidence interval, 69.2 73.8 vs mean, 48; 44.2 51.6; P < .001). CONCLUSION created inexpensive, reusable, accessible. results demonstrate this face, content, valid.
