Positive neuropsychology: The science and practice of promoting cognitive health.

摘要: Positive psychology has influenced multiple subfields within and areas outside of psychology. While positive psychology's focus on mental health character strengths did not appear to meaningfully impact neuropsychology in its earlier stages, more recent indications suggest that the neuropsychological literature, perhaps field as a whole, begun embrace related research practice applications. In this context, emerged orientation focused study promoting cognitive health. The present review discusses origins elaborates six key evidence-based domains: compensatory strategy use, activity engagement, prevention impairment, public education, exceptional cognition, outcomes neuropsychiatric populations. This broad perspective wellness can easily be embraced by both clinicians researchers offers directions for future growth. Ultimately, consideration various methods promote inform our understanding optimal brain function, maximize functioning individuals with limitations, enhance quality life among populations served neuropsychologists.
