摘要: Homing behaviour in cyprinid species has been demonstrated by a number of research workers during the past 35 years. The British work principally conducted through tank experimentation with roach, gudgeon and minnows, but limited field data indicating home range have also published. Evidence is now presented, from fish population assessment management programme covering 6000 km river fisheries Anglian region eastern England, to suggest that mechanisms do not play significant role overall stock dynamics major systems. An alternative hypothesis which fits observed circumstances more closely described, based on perception communities as totally mobile populations influenced predominantly flow characteristics behavioural responses seasonal temperature factors. This concept illustrated sequential series schematic diagrams catchment key factor infinitely variable movement patterns interspersed periods passive downstream displacement (negatively size-related) modified increasing degrees interference structures. The implications riverine discussed strategies traditional style stockings within paper are suggested rely mechanisms.
