摘要: Abstract Subsistence and commercial hunting is of greater importance than sport to ungulate management in the Peruvian Amazon. Ungulates hunted include red brocket deer Mazama americana , grey M. gouazoubira collared peccary Tayassu tajacu white-lipped T. pecari lowland tapir Tapirus terrestris . Analysis pelt trade indicated that programmes put forth by Ministry Agriculture Peru have successfully regulated harvest controlling professional meat hunters. Information collected on a local community hunters revealed lumbermen were harvesting significantly more ungulates subsistence The lumber operations supply workers with shotguns cartridges instead basic foods decrease operational costs using game meat. Lumbermen should therefore be considered as instated them. Illegal occasionally visited study area quite destructive species when present.
