摘要: — Although the lex gene has been described until recently as being required for lysogenic induction, both our work and of others have reported Λ prophage induction in some lexA mutants. However, characteristics process were not defined. We describe UV a lexA1 mutant at slightly lower level requiring 2 times longer than wild type. As demonstrated work, cells treated with low levels rifampicin (RIF) no new synthesis RecA protein is needed although onset lysis delayed. suggest that due to same mechanism induces type RIF. That is, cleavage represser by basal protease DNA-single-strand gap, since monomer high affinity this DNA. So, LexA need be cleaved induction. No Weigle-reactivation (WR) was detected even after long post-irradiation incubation, suggesting unlike WR requires cleavage.
