摘要: Mutagenesis induced by several genotoxic agents has been reported to be inhibited cobaltous chloride. In order study the effects of this metal in some SOS functions we evaluated mutagenesis, lysogenic induction and phage reactivation Escherichia coli cells treated with CoCl2. We detected that chloride, when present plating medium, was able block mutagenesis promoted UV irradiation. also found CoCl2 blocked protein synthesis, so propose effect can responsible for antimutagenic antilysogenic metal. On other hand, if were a short period time CoCl2, absence Mg, observed chloride per se promote as well enhance conclude depending on experimental conditions, may act either an inhibitor or inducer functions.
