摘要: Background: A systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS) is frequently observed after traumatic injury. The sterile and the activating stimulus tissue damage. Endogenous molecules, called alarmins, are reputed to be released by injured tissues but precise identity of these mediators unclear. This review summarizes current preclinical clinical evidence for trauma alarmins their role in innate immune activation. Methods: A comprehensive literature putative damage injury was conducted. Results: The presence SIRS at admission an independent predictor mortality trauma. primary initiators human Several endogenous substances display alarmin characteristics vitro. Preclinical studies demonstrate that blockade certain can reduce adverse sequelae Human extremely limited. Conclusion: The magnitude acute inflammation predictive outcome trauma, suggesting early opportunity modulation may exist. An understanding mechanisms activation following lead new therapeutic agents improved patient survival. Copyright © 2011 British Journal Surgery Society Ltd. Published John Wiley & Sons,
