摘要: Abstract A single crystal platelet of uranium dioxide has been prepared with one side very nearly parallel to the (111) plane and other inclined approximately 11.4° from plane. Low energy electron diffraction patterns obtained surface are characteristic clean unmodified structure after vacuum annealed. Diffraction exhibit more closely spaced beams which attributed superstructures regularly steps. The observed have compared calculated based on a simple kinematical analysis where it is assumed that step height spacing in accord (553) Calculations made for case only outermost layer (or oxygen) atoms serve as scattering centers, also contribution second equals first.
