摘要: RATIONALE AND OBJECTIVES The authors developed a two-dimensional breathhold magnetic resonance (MR) technique for the direct imaging of pulmonary emboli. METHODS In vitro MR was performed to demonstrate potential generation clot-blood contrast by in vivo embolism (PE). A magnetization prepared gradient-echo (turbo-FLASH) designed directly image intravascular emboli selective nulling blood signal. turbo-FLASH angiographic sequence used provide spatial localization detected Thirteen patients with suspected PE were studied; 6 underwent conventional angiography (CPA) and remaining 7 had diagnoses based on findings from other studies. RESULTS study clot demonstrated an initial rise then fall T1 sufficient generate after eight days formation. All CPA or alternative evidence diagnosed as positive embolus MR. There no false-positive diagnoses. Three additional using compared CPA. provided useful road map but less sensitive detection than technique. CONCLUSIONS is feasible simple
