摘要: Blood pressure (BP) data obtained during a BP screening program were analyzed to determine the prevalence of “significant” hypertension, defined by Second National Heart, Lung, and Institute Task Force on Pressure Control in Children—1987 as level above which medical evaluation intervention are recommended. In 14,686 black white St. Paul Minneapolis schoolchildren aged 10 15 years, was measured twice an initial examination. Children with systolic upper 30 percentiles distribution after had their remeasured two additional times at rescreening The significant hypertension determined according criteria established report. After measurements averaged, found 1.0%, diastolic 3.5%, or both, 4.2% students. examination, percentage students remaining reduced 0.3% for systolic, 0.8% diastolic, 1.1% both. These results show that is uncommon pre-high-school confirm need repeated make accurate diagnosis hypertension. However, should not detract from current recommendations monitor children yearly basis detect longitudinal tracking patterns may be consistent early essential
