摘要: Abstract Background The prevalence of gastro-oesophageal reflux disease symptoms in physicians, as compared to that the general population, is not known. Methods We submitted a validated Italian version simple questionnaire (Reflux Disease Questionnaire) 490 physicians and 430 controls assess: (i) presence, frequency severity two populations; (ii) how self-assessment troublesome by correlate with pathological Reflux Questionnaire, judged on basis total Questionnaire score ≥8. Results A valid complete was obtained 456/490 (93.1%) 367/430 (85.3%) controls. Between groups there were no differences terms or individual items, only exception “severity burning feeling behind breastbone” which significantly higher physician group. An excellent correlation found between score. Conclusions among doctors different from reported matched control group, their ability self-assessing optimal.
