摘要: Medical marijuana continues to gain acceptance and become legalized in many states. Various species of the plant have been cultivated, this can contain up 100 active compounds known as cannabinoids. Two cannabinoids seem most clinically relevant: Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which tends produce psychotropic effects commonly associated with marijuana, cannabidiol (CBD), may therapeutic without appreciable psychoactive properties. Smoking or ingesting extracts from whole orally (in baked goods, teas, so forth), introduces variable amounts THC, CBD, other minor into systemic circulation, where they ultimately reach central peripheral nervous systems. Alternatively, products containing a combination both compounds, be ingested oral tablets via sprays applied mucosal membranes. These provide more predictable method for delivering amount specific body. Although there is still need randomized controlled trials, preliminary studies suggested that medical related beneficial treating people chronic pain, inflammation, spasticity, conditions seen physical therapist practice. Physical therapists, therefore, should aware options are available patients considering ready information these patients. Clinicians also untoward on cognition, coordination, balance, cardiovascular pulmonary function vigilant any problems arise if using during rehabilitation.
